Black Hills of South Dakota: Mt Rushmore, Bears and Bison!

On July 13th we drove into the Black Hills, where we spent day.   First stop, Mount Rushmore.

We also visited the center for a Crazy Horse monument, under construction and NOT supported by any federal or state funds……

We then traveled to nearby Needles Highway in Custer State Park, which winds through a mountain passage with giant, ancient stone spires and three very narrow tunnels blasted through the granite mountains.

Finally, we visited a wildlife preserve where Sunny discovered bears, bison and big horn sheep!
