From 8/16 to 8/18, we were in Cedar City, UT, which was our base for exploring Zion National Park.
On the first day we were there, we happened on Cedar Breaks National Monument, which is about 20 miles out of town, We’d never even heard of it, so it was an amazing surprise. We then drove on up (literally), to the resort community of Brian Head, which sits above 9,000 feet elevation. The temperature difference from the valley in Cedar City to Brian Head was 30 degrees–it went from 90 degrees to 60! If you look closely in the photos, you’ll see us shivering.
Here are a few photos from Cedar Breaks:
We then visited the fabulous ZION National Park. To learn more about America’s first national park, click here.
Zion is an incredible canyon of giant red, orange and pink sandstone cliffs rising thousands of feet above the canyon floor. Despite the fact that we had to fight crowds in the peak Zion season, the canyon was amazing.
